Inspiration / Interpretation
The fall is such a joyous time, with the colored leaves, Thanksgiving around the corner and maybe a good chance of an Indian summer... So, I thought the idea of those last few leaves dancing in the wind would be beautiful for a painting.
And, that's why I called this painting "Last Dance".
But there is a little more to the story... according to wikipedia, Lou Reed told the story on the Elvis Costello show that the song's writer, Doc Pomus, wrote the song on his wedding day, confined to a wheelchair while watching his bride danc...
